India Squad for Ireland and England T20I Series: India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been withdrawn from the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and the tour of England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced.
The BCCI said the decision was taken as part of Siraj's workload management programme after a lengthy period of international cricket.
“Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been withdrawn from India's squads for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England,” the BCCI said in a statement.
According to the board, the decision followed discussions between the BCCI Medical Team and the team management. Siraj has been advised to take a period of rest as a precautionary measure to ensure adequate recovery before a busy international season.
Siraj has carried a significant workload over the past year. He played all five Tests of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England last summer and continued to feature regularly across formats. During India's Test against the West Indies at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium in October, he required treatment after struggling in the heat. Despite the setback, he finished the match as India's leading wicket-taker of 2025.
The pacer is expected to return for the ODI series against England in July.
Prasidh Krishna has been named as Siraj's replacement in the T20I squad. The Karnataka fast bowler earned the call-up after a strong domestic and franchise season. He claimed 16 wickets in 12 matches for Gujarat Titans and remains one of India's pace options across formats.

Although Prasidh has played only five T20Is for India, he brings valuable international experience from 23 ODIs and seven Test matches. Team management is also expected to benefit from his extra bounce and height in English conditions.
The fast bowler enjoyed a productive Test series against England last year. He picked up 14 wickets in three matches, including a best performance of 4 for 62 at The Oval.
The latest squad update reflects India's focus on managing player fitness ahead of major international assignments. With preparations already underway for future global tournaments, the board appears keen to ensure key players remain available and fully fit.
India's updated squad for the Ireland and England T20I series is: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma (vice-captain), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Prasidh Krishna.
The team will now continue preparations for the Ireland series before travelling to England for the T20I matches scheduled in July.
