WATCH: Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez react to Haider Ali’s drop catch

Haider Ali got a lifeline when Mohammad Hafeez and Fakhar Zaman collided and dropped the catch. The ball took a leading edge of the bat as Haider Ali opted for a huge shot. Both the players came to grab the ball but the ball slipped from/ Fakhar Zaman’s hands and fell to the ground.

But later in the innings, Fakhar Zaman dismissed Haider Ali as he ran short of the crease. Haider missed his half century by just one run.

After the conclusion of the game, Hafeez said that he and Fakhar thought that it was their catch and therefore went for it. “He told me that I said ‘Yes mine!’, but I said ‘No it’s mine!,” said Mohammad Hafeez.

In response to that Fakhar Zaman sarcastically said that he told to his mind and not to Hafeez that it was his catch. You called ‘Yes mine right’? But believe me, I said ‘No it’s mine’ in my mind,” said Fakhar Zaman.

Fakhar Zaman took this incident to twitter and posted about the incident. He updated his profile photo wherein he and Hafeez can be seen dropping the catch.

Peshawar Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz won the toss and opted to bowl first at the National Stadium in Karachi. Batting first, Lahore Qalandars posted a total of 199 runs on the board. Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique together put up 94 runs on the board for the first wicket. Fakhar played a 66 run knock off 38 deliveries which included 6 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 173.68. Mohammad Hafeez in the end scored a quickfire 37 off 19 while Rashid Khan scored 22 off 8.

While chasing down the target, Peshawar Zalmi could only manage to put up 170 runs on the board at the cost of 9 wickets. Lahore eventually won the game by 29 runs.

At the end of the game, Lahore Qalandars climbed up to the third spot in the table with two wins from four games while Peshawar Zalmi slipped to the 5th spot with a win off 3 games.
