The 30th game of the IPL 2022 was played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. In the 2nd innings, KKR captain, Shreyas Iyer screamed in an angry mood at Venkatesh Iyer for not taking a second run in the 16th over of Trent Boult.
KKR captain, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first which has been the case in all the matches of the IPL 2022 so far. After many matches, Rajasthan Royals’ openers started things pretty well, with mainly Jos Buttler scoring heavily in the powerplay. Padikkal and Buttler played really well and added 97 runs in only 9.4 overs before Padikkal was bowled by Sunil Narine.
Then, skipper, Sanju Samson came out to bat and was all over KKR blowers. He scored a brilliant knock of 38 runs in just 19 balls, but still, this innings was all about Jos Buttler. Jos scored his second IPL century off 59 balls. He departed on 103 in 61 balls and caught off the bowling of Pat Cummins, but it was a brilliant inning. Once Buttler got out, RR batters started smashing at every ball, and eventually, RR reached a terrific score of 217/5 due to the late innings from Shimron Hetmyer.
During the chase, KKR did not start things well as they suffered a loss on the first blow as Hetmyer’s direct throw sent back Sunil Narine for a duck. In any case, Aaron Finch and captain, Shreyas Iyer sewed a splendid partnership of 107 runs for the second wicket before Prasidh Krishna excused Finch in the ninth over. Not long after that, KKR was down to 167/4 in 15 overs with Shreyas and Venkatesh Iyer back in the hunt.
Nonetheless, on the last ball of the sixteenth over, Venkatesh played an inside-out shot over a profound backward point and Shreyas Iyer was ball-watching and descended for the second however Venkatesh sent him back on schedule, yet the KKR captain shouted at his teammate.
