India’s full-time skipper Rohit Sharma won the hearts of everyone for his kind gesture. During the second day of the test match between India and Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma asked former Indian captain Virat Kohli to take the field once again and give him a guard of honor. The Indian players stood in line and gave Kohli the guard of honor in his 100th test match.
This incident took place just before the start of the third session of Day 2. The Indian players clapped as Kohli took the field. Kohli waved his right hand and marked his presence in the field.
Virat Kohli is the 12th Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ishant Sharma, Virender Sehwag, and Harbhajan Singh to get a guard of honor for playing 100 matches or more.
The BCCI also posted the video of the same on their official Twitter account.

Earlier today, Rohit Sharma declared the innings after his team managed to put up a mammoth total of 574/8 on the board. Ravindra Jadeja starred with the bat as he remained unbeaten for his 175 off 228 deliveries. On the other hand, Virat Kohli who was playing his 100th test scored 45 in the first innings before being dismissed by Lasith Embuldeniya.
At the time of writing, Sri Lanka has scored just 63 runs at the loss of two wickets and are trailing by 511 runs. Youngster Pathum Nissanka is in the middle along with veteran Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Matthews.
