Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh is widely known for his destructive batting, he is also known for his one hand six which he plays often and In the first Test match between India and Sri Lanka he amazed everyone again with his one-handed massive six, Rishabh made 96 of 97 deliveries before he was dismissed by Suranga Lakmal.
Coming to bat at number 5 after the wicket of Virat Kohli, Pant started cautiously with the wicket falling at the other end but he suddenly shifted the gears in the 76th over when he smashes the Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya for a 22 run which included 2 boundaries and 4 sixes it’s quite to rare to see a bowler conceding 22 runs in a test match cricket, In the very next over Pant smashed Dhananjaya de silva for 10 runs in which he hits his trademark massive one-handed six which sailed way over the ropes.
As far as the game is concerned India started well after opting to bat at Mohali, Rohit Sharma started in a positive manner as he scored 29 of 28 and shared a 52 run stand for the opening wicket with Mayank Aggarwal, Playing his 100th test match Virat Kohli was felicitated by the head coach Rahul Dravid before the start of play, Kohli was looking good in his 100th test match before he was bowled by a beauty from Lasith Embuldeniya which he failed to pick, after his dismissal, Rishabh Pant added small partnerships with Vihari and Shreyas Iyer, then Pant added 104 runs with Ravindra Jadeja and after his century in South Africa in the third test match, Pant was looking well set for another century before he was dismissed by Lakmal on 96.
This was also 5th time when Rishabh was dismissed in the 90s which is already quite a number in his small career, India was 357 for 6 after the end of play on Day1, with India’s ace spinners Jadeja and Ashwin being unbeaten on 45 and 10 respectively.
