Australia’s cricket team is currently playing test cricket in Pakistan after 24 years as they last toured Pakistan way back in 1998, In the second game of three-match test series at the National Stadium in Karachi, Australian skipper Pat Cummins was seen trying hard to guide his team to a historic test win on Pakistan soil not only with the bat and ball but also by doing some ground staff’s works.
On a flattish wicket in Karachi, Australia set a huge target of 506 runs for the hosts thanks to Usman Khawaja 160 and some superb reverse swing bowling from Mitchell Starc. On Day 4, the pitch turned a bit uneven as the bowlers were struggling to land their foot accurately while bowling. Cummins took the matter into his own hands to do the ground staff’s work during Day 4’s play when Pakistan was 113/2 in the 53rd over.
Pat Cummins was seen hitting the surface with a small hammer which ground staff uses to repair the pitch for the bowlers. The Pakistan Cricket Board also posted the video of this incident of Cummins getting the job done and captioned the post, “So @Patcummins30 is Thor ?” Thor is a Marvel superhero which is played by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth plays the role of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The pitch has already received quite a lot of criticism as several former players slammed the curator because there is nothing for the bowler which was also seen in the first match at Rawalpindi where there was no outcome even after 5 days of cricket. This pitch is also the same as the previous one where batsman enjoyed playing this is why this game also ended in a draw thanks to marathon innings from Babar Azam of 196 runs, he was on the crease for over 9 hours during this marathon knock, Rizwan also got to his second test century in the second last over of the game and managed a draw for the hosts.
