Netherlands and Zimbabwe have qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. The Netherlands and Zimbabwe secured their tickets to Australia after defeating Papua New Guinea and the United States in the World Cup Qualifier B tournament semi-finals.
Zimbabwe qualified for the World Cup after defeating Papua New Guinea by 27 runs in the first semi-final. Chasing the target of 200 runs set by Zimbabwe in the match, Papua New Guinea scored only 172 runs in 20 overs.
The Netherlands qualified for the World Cup by defeating the United States by 7 wickets in the second semi-final. The Netherlands overcame the target of 139 runs raised by the USA in the match with the loss of three wickets in 19 overs.
In the qualifiers, Ireland and UAE qualified for the World Cup from A. These qualified teams will face West Indies, Sri Lanka, Scotland and Namibia in the first round. The four winning teams will be Australia, India, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and South Africa in the Super 12.
The first round of matches will begin on October 16. The Super 12 matches will begin on October 22 with a clash between defending champions Australia and New Zealand.
