The ICC recently legalized the Mankading runout. The rule is that if a non-striker leaves the crease before the bowl is released, the bowler can dismiss him. Moreover, such dismissals have been brought within the ambit of the runout.

Therefore, Aparijith’s run-out against Jagadeesan is legally allowed. However, the fans were outraged by the behaviour of the star. While leaving the crease, Jagadeesan repeatedly made obscene gestures by pointing his middle finger at the bowler and the opposing team.
