IPL 2022: Krunal Pandya doesn’t celebrate after taking wicket of brother Hardik Pandya

The two new teams for the IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants played their first IPL game at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday night, where the Titans beat the Giants easily by five wickets.

Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Wankhede considering dew later in the night, The fast bowlers from Titans proved their captain’s decision right and made some early inroads.

India’s premier fast bowler Mohammed Shami dismissed Lucknow’s super Giant captain KL Rahul on the very first ball. Soon, Lucknow was reduced to 32 for 4 thanks to a 3 wicket opening spell from Mohammed Shami. It was an awful start for the new team with Titans bowlers exerting pressure from the first ball of the game.

But Deepak Hooda’s presence in the middle gave immense relief to Lucknow Super Giants. Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni went on to put up a well-made partnership for the Lucknow Super Giant team. It was a much-needed partnership and momentum for the KL Rahul-led New team.

Thanks to the partnership between Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni. Lucknow was able to put a fighting total of 158 on the board from 32 for 4 at one stage. It was indeed a good total after the horrible start the team got.

In the chase, Lucknow’s bowlers bowled well at the start and did not allow the Titans batsman to run away with the game in between

Krunal Pandya went on to pick the wicket of Hardik Pandya. But he did not celebrate the wicket and instead gave a shocking expression. It was because Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya are brothers.

Rahul Tewatia scored a 24 ball 40 including five fours and two sixes, along with Abhinav Manohar who got a 7 ball 15 to push Gujarat titans over the line with 5 wickets and 2 balls remaining.

Lucknow Super Giant will face defending champions Chennai Super Kings on 31st March in a Night game at Brabourne Stadium, while Titans will face Delhi Capitals on 2nd April at MCA Stadium in Pune.
