Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians face each other in match number 9 of Indian Premier League 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium. Mumbai’s skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl and Rajasthan Royal’s opening batter Jos Butler looked in prime form as he smashed young Mumbai’s Basil Thampi for 26 runs in the third over of the match to take the early momentum.
Jos Butler is one of the most destructive batsmen currently in World Cricket and the Indian Premier League, The English batsman opened the innings for the Royals in the 9th match of the 2022 IPL. He looked in supreme touch from the first ball as he smashed Basil Thampi for 26 runs in the third over of the game.
It was Thampi’s first over of the match and Jos Butler showed no mercy he smashed the fast bowler for a monstrous six-over mid-wicket to give his side momentum early in the game. Jos Butler played the first ball dot then he came into his own and struck 3 sixes and 2 boundaries against Basil Thampi in that over leaving fans and commentators amazed.
During the carnage, he struck 3 sixes in that Thampi’s over where the first one was a huge 101 meter six which went out of the ground.
Earlier, After winning the toss Rohit Sharma invited the Royals to bat at DY Patil Stadium, Royals were reduced to 48 for 2 after the powerplay but A scintillating century from Jos Buter1 100* of 66 with 11 boundaries and 5 sixes along with some great hitting from Hetmyer who scored 35 of 14 with 3 boundaries and 3 huge sixes pushed Rajasthan royals to 193 for 8 after their allotted 20 overs of play for Mumbai Jasprit Bumrah and Tymal Mills picked 3 wickets each while Pollard got 1 wicket.
It will be interesting to see the chase from Mumbai Indians with Surya Kumar Yadav still not available and some senior bowlers in the Rajasthan Camp, after losing the first game Mumbai Indians will be hoping for their first win of the season.
