They say when a cricketer is out of touch nearly everything can go against him and that exactly happened with Mumbai Indians (MI) wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan. The southpaw opener who has been battling for form got out in quite possibly the most bizarre manners in the ongoing match against the Lucknow Super Giant (LSG) to the leg-spinner, Ravi Bishnoi.
MI and LSG are locking horns with one another in the 37th match of the IPL 2022 at the Wankhede arena. In the wake of winning the toss, MI opted to bowl first and LSG on the rear of a second consecutive KL Rahul century against them managed to reach 168/6. Rahul was the main batter who kept his group in the game as his unbeaten knock was laced with 12 limits and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 166.12.
Mumbai Indians then came out to chase the target as they opened with regular opener Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Rohit Sharma made indications of a return to shape as he smashed Dushamnatha Chameera and other LSG bowlers left, right, and center. Ishan Kishan then again was struggling once more and couldn’t break the shackles.
The left-hander was batting on 8 from 19 balls when he and the fans witnessed perhaps the most bizarre occurrence. On the first ball of the seventh over Ravi Bishnoi was bowling and Ishan attempted to smack the ball which was going wide over the cover locale however got the lower edge of the bat.
Normally the ball would have hit the ground and bounced yet Ishan Kishan was so exceptionally unfortunate as he wound up hitting Quinton de Kock’s boot as it bounced back up just for Jason Holder to take a simple catch at slip which he almost put down.
