BCCI has announced the 15-member Indian squad for the 2022 Asia Cup. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have returned to the Indian team in the Rohit Sharma-led team. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was not included in the team due to injury. KL Rahul is named as the vice-captain of team India.
Fast Bowler Harshal Patel was not given a chance in the team following an injury. Indian fans are disappointed with excluding the inexperienced Mohammed Shami from the team. Arshadeep Singh, who had a good bowling performance in the West Indies series, got a chance in the team.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan were selected as fast bowlers. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja were included in the team as all-rounders. Chahal, Ashwin and Bishnai were selected as spin bowlers.
Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda and Rishabh Pant were included in India’s middle order. Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan did not get a chance in the Asia Cup team. Shreesh Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar were considered as backup players.

Backup Players: Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel & Deepak Chahar.
The Asia Cup will begin on the 27th with the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. India will play the first match against Pakistan on 28th in Dubai. Dubai and Sharjah will be the venues for the Asia Cup matches.
