In the second match of the T20 series against Ireland, included Sanju Samson in the Indian playing XI. Sanju joins the team to replace the injured Rituraj Gaikwad. Captain Hardik Pandya’s announcement that Sanju will join the Indian team during the toss in Dublin.
The fans were shocked to see this and asked Hardik why he was so loud when he mentioned Sanju’s name. Hardik replied with a smile that he thinks the audience liked the decision. Sanju did not get a chance in the first T20.
Ishant Kishan and Sanju Samson opened the innings for India, who came to bat first. Sanju started the innings with a four off the first ball. Though Ishant Kishan lost in the powerplay, Sanju and Deepak Hooda crossed 50 the powerplay.
At one end, Deepak Hooda smashed and on the other hand, Sanju Samson provided excellent support. Sanju scored a half-century off 31 balls. He scored the first half-century of his career 7 years after making his debut.
In the 17th over, when Sanju Samson was knocked out, Team India came close to 190. Sanju returns after completing the highest partnership in T20 cricket for India. He hit 77 off 42 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes.

Ireland got off to a brilliant start following India’s huge score but ended the innings with 221 as India won by 4 runs. Ireland needed just 17 runs in the final over, but Young Umran Malik was conceded only 12 runs.

India won the first match of the series by 7 wickets. In a match that was reduced to 12 overs, India overtook Ireland’s target of 109 by losing 3 wickets in 9.2 overs.
