In a recent Instagram story, Glenn Phillips disclosed that he tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. So he is still there in New Zealand right now and will only join the squad once he recovers and tests negative for COVID. He clarified saying, “For those who keep asking – I am stuck in New Zealand due to a positive PCR travel test. I will be joining SRH as soon as I can.”

SRH started their 2022 IPL campaign with a big loss against Rajasthan Royals at MCA in Pune, The SRH bowlers struggled and conceded 210 runs in the first innings thanks to a blistering fifty from the Royals captain Sanju Samson and some lower-order hitting from Hetmyer who scored 32 of just 13 balls to take Royals to 210 for 6 after their 20 overs, In reply Rajasthan’s new recruits, Yuzi Chahal and Krishna were too hot to handle for SRH as they combine to pick 5 wickets and restricted SRH to just 149 for 7 and won the game by 61 for the Rajasthan Royals.

SRH’s next game is against one of the new Teams Lucknow Supergiant on Monday 4th April at DY Patil Stadium who are also coming from a loss, It will be interesting which team can get their first win and earn an early momentum in this long tournament.
