Camera catches Virat Kohli using The Undertaker's iconic 'throat slash' at Shubman Gill during RCB vs GT match

Once more Kohli’s affection for WWE came to the fore during RCB’s IPL 2022 match against Gujarat Titans at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Kohli recreated WWE legend The Undertaker’s notable ‘throat-slash’ sign at GT opener Shubman Gill just when he and his accomplice Wriddhiman Saha left to bat.

Yet again Kohli’s affection for WWE came to the fore during RCB’s IPL 2022 match against Gujarat Titans at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Kohli recreated WWE legend The Undertaker’s famous ‘throat-slash’ sign at GT opener Shubman Gill just when he and his accomplice Wriddhiman Saha left to bat. The camera immediately spotted Kohli providing Gill with a glimpse of The Undertaker through his actions.

This is not the first time Kohli has used an Undertaker reference in this season of the IPL. Recently, when RCB registered an 18-run prevail upon Lucknow Super Giants, Kohli had compared RCB’s rebound in the match to The Undertaker’s resurrection. “Wonderful. Under the siphon once more and you return once more. We resemble The Undertaker,” Kohli told Glenn Maxwell and skipper Faf du Plessis.

Kohli has as a matter of fact featured two times on WWE legend John Cena’s Instagram handle. In July of 2019, Cena shared a picture of Kohli offering his hand for a mysterious handshake, a classic reference to Cena’s ‘You Can’t See Me’ catchphrase which he made famous during his legendary residency with the WWE. After two years, in front of the debut World Test Championship last, Cena had shared one more picture of Kohli batting with the Indian public banner behind the scenes. Fans rushed to rush to make the judgment call that Cena was perhaps loaning his support to Team India in front of the crunch last.
