Two records await India’s 360° batsman Suryakumar Yadav in the South African T20I series that begins tomorrow at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. If Suryakumar hits a six in the India vs South Africa match tomorrow, he can surpass Pakistan’s opening batsman Mohammad Rizwan and claim this record in his name.
Suryakumar is already in the best form of his career in T20Is this year. Suryakumar scored 682 runs, five fifties, and one century this year in 20 T20I matches. And he hit 58 fours and 42 sixes with his bat. If Suryakumar hits a six in tomorrow’s match at the Greenfield International Stadium, he will set the record for the most sixes hit by a batter in a calendar year in T20I cricket.
Suryakumar is currently tied with Pakistan batsman Mohammad Rizwan who scored 42 sixes last year. In the previous match against Australia, Surya scored five sixes and came with Rizwan, surpassing Martin Guptill, who hit 41 sixes.
