He had his chance at saving though. Dinesh Karthik attempted to go after a ball outside off stump on the fourth ball of the fourteenth over. however, he couldn’t get to it. The ball hit the toe end of the bat and went up in the air and Mukesh wound up under it once again.
In any case, the bowler wrecked it once more and the ball slipped through his fingers to give Karthik a respite.
